New: (2/3/14): New pictures have been added. There are some from geometry math lessons as well as a few from our 100th day of school!
--Please remember there is early release this Wednesday, February 5th.
--The first round of Flat Stanley letters have been mailed out! I will mail the rest this week hopefully once they are complete! I can't wait for them to be returned to our class :)
New: (1/8/14): Due to the two cold days, the district has pushed back the date that report cards will be sent home. The new date is Friday, January 24th. This is different than the date on the newsletter, as that was printed before the new date was released. Pictures from the Polar Express party have been posted! I will be submitting all the pictures I have to the yearbook, but if you have any you'd like to submit, please email them to me and I will make sure the committee receives them!
New: (12/3): Scholastic book orders will be due this Friday, December 6th. I apologize for not allowing more of an open window to turn them in; however, I want to ensure they get here before the holiday break! This time there were not as many fliers to pass out, but there are lots of options online! Thank you in advance for understanding. Also-I posted a few pictures from our Thanksgiving feast!
New: (12/1): Thank you to everyone who attended conferences! I enjoyed meeting with all of you. If you would like a copy of the notes I discussed with you, please let me know and I'd be happy to make you a copy! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Just a reminder, we will be going to the Holiday Shop this Friday morning around 9 am. Also, this Thursday is the last session with our high school buddies!
New: (11/5) Disguise a Turkey project is due Monday, November 11th! Above are a few examples from last year! I am so excited to see what the students come up with this year!
Pumpkin winners were...Tyler B (Lorax) #1, Daniel (No David) #2, and Alan (Rainbow Fish) #3. Great job to everyone who participated :)
New (10/23): Here is the new district rubric that outlines the expectations for the 4 minute addition and subtraction fact fluency on the report card:
+, - >50 is a "4" or exceeds
+,- 50 is a "3" or meets
+30-49, -30-49 is a "2" or approaching
+, - <30 is a "1" or beginning.
Your child must master both addition and subtraction scores within a category to earn that grade. For example, if they have 54 addition facts but only 17 subtraction facts, they fall within the "1" on the report card for overall math fact fluency memorization. There is plenty of time to keep practicing throughout the year and we take the timed tests almost every week!
October Scholastic book orders will be due Wednesday, October 30th.
